My name is Jim West and I just joined CSAS as well as this forum.

I was into this hobby when I was much younger but alas entered my dark years.

My 10 yr old daughter has taken quite an interest and so I want to encourage this as much as possible. She wants to learn, observe and image, which means I (we) get to dabble in astrophotog for the first time as well.

Since we are interested in imaging, especially DSO's I opted for a Meade LX200-ACF 8". I also have a DSI Pro II Monochrome with colour filters, but I'm really interested in seeing what I can do with my Olympus C-5050.

I'm interested in assisting with any star parties so that I can learn from others and to give my daughter more opportunities. Would also like to see about possibly setting up a star party for her class so need to learn what it takes to do such a thing.

I look forward to learning and contributing where I can.
