Which t-ring/camera adatper to get?
I got a Canon 60D last week. I've been wanting a DSLR for a long time. now that I have one, I can also use it for some astro pix.
Ginger said I should go to the camera shop and see which one fits the best. However, Camera Works stocks some, but didn't have a Canon EOS t-ring at all.
I've seen t-ring/camera adapters as one piece. I've also seen them separate and screw together. I like them separate so I can get different adapters. I've seen a SCT to t-thread adatper that would work great on SCTs. then I can get a 2" eyepiece to t-thread for use in focusers.
Any options on the different brands/setups?
Thanks,
Bob

For T-Rings, I don't think there is a huge difference between the different brands. Mine's a standard size (not wide) EOS T-Ring from Orion and it works fine. There are a few out here than are a bit different, the 1-pieces that you pointed out, there are a few that allow the autofocus indicators in the to work, and Teleskop Services makes a low-profile one. The TS one would be interesting if you're trying to reach focus on a newt that's not designed for imaging.
For T-Adapter, I'm assuming you want a male T-thread to male 2" eyepiece, stick to 2" for the DSLR, and I prefer to go low profile because you can always add extensions if necessary. I have one that looks identical to this http://agenaastro.com/blue-fireball-2-prime-focus-t-adapter-2-t-thread-adapter.html and it works OK. I replaced it with this one http://www.focuser.com/cgi-bin/dman.cgi?page=productdetail&plugin=dstore.cgi&product=2T-Adapter because I do not like undercuts for imaging. Because there is no real standard for the width and depth of the undercuts, the adapter/camera can tilt slightly in the focuser if the undercut does not mate correctly with the focuser's compression ring.
