Shooter Monday night!

Postby fillerupmac » May 24th, 2005, 12:10 pm

Chris -

As a part time member of the LARC (you'll hear more on this at the meeting), I caught a pretty good meteorite last night - fairly bright, seconds long, smoke trail afterward.

We were standing just southwest of Mt. Pisgah, west of Cripple Creek, and I would guess around 9:30PM. It fell directly west of us, from where we were standing, the trail appeared high above Castor, and headed straight down (or west?) just to the right of Castor, disappearing about halfway between Castor and the distant mountain horizon to the west.

Did you catch that on your all sky??
