Beginners eve

Postby fillerupmac » May 22nd, 2005, 3:11 am

Another hearty vote of thanks to Alan Gorski for the Beginners nite last nite at Palmer Park. While the (almost) full moon hid all of the fainter objects, it did guarantee a better chance of clear skies, and it was a wonderful evening!

More thanks to Peter for his expertise, and to "Mr. ETX" our own GOTO Savvy Chad for unraveling the mysteries of those little boxes. I met with several of the new folks, and leant my nickels worth on a collimation project on a fairly new 10 inch Meade. Nice scope!

Bryan gave a nice tour of the night sky, Matt and one son dropped by, and even Mike Frazier (you DO remember him, don't you?) stepped up! Lisa was there, and I think that covers all the more experienced folks - thanks to you all for contributing.

A great beginner's night!

I had some great views of Saturn through Bruce McCleod's 5" Mak. I thought it was a very good turnout.

Yeah it was a real blast and I really hope to make some more of these (would still love to do a similar thing at RMSS but I'm still not sure I can make RMSS this year).
